What started as a career quickly became a calling. The safety side of linework came later in my journey, but it didn’t take long for it to become a true passion. Recently, I earned my [Certified Utility Safety Professional (CUSP) certification](https://usoln.org/cusp-certification/) with an endorsement in Distribution & Transmission — a milestone that reminds me how much there still is to learn, even after two decades in the trade. One of the best feelings as a Lineman was always flipping that breaker and seeing the lights come back on. Now, I’m just as excited to be part of a team that helps prevent outages before they happen. By identifying potential problems early, utilities can plan repairs safely, efficiently, and without the pressure of an emergency callout. Between sports, boating, and outdoor adventures, they definitely keep us on our toes — and I wouldn’t have it any other way.
